The Adult Education Budget (AEB) supports employees and individuals aged 19+ to access courses and gain qualifications that improve their productivity, skills and career opportunities. The Government may fully fund a qualification depending on your employees’ previous level of qualification and how much they earn.
Local training providers have access to AEB and can help you find out if your employees are eligible for funding and what courses or qualifications would most suit the skills needs of your business.
We provide a catalogue of our AEB funded qualifications divided into subject areas, so you can easily search for courses that suit the skills needs of your industry.

In May 2017, the Government introduced new arrangements for the delivery of apprenticeships, including how they are funded. The reforms included a new employer levy, which is paid by larger employers. This levy funds apprenticeships for employers and their staff.
City & Guilds apprenticeship webpages will support you with information about the apprenticeship reforms, the levy, our apprenticeships and End Point Assessment offer.

Maths and English are core skills needed by most employees to be fully effective in the workplace. The Government fully funds any individual to get their first level 1 and/or level 2 qualification in maths and English. Access more detail about the qualifications and courses for your employees here.
The Government funds some courses via a loan system so learners and employees can improve their skills and knowledge and pay for course costs via their PAYE, once the qualification is complete. Repayment only starts once an employee is earning £25,000pa or more. Qualifications in the loan offer are at Level 3 and above and available to individuals aged 19+.
